I started out a very conscientious pioneer, but when I approached the end of the month and was ten or twenty hours short, I ‘borrowed’ from the next month. It wasn’t long before the time spent in the first week or two of any given month was included in the previous month’s report. I didn’t see it as falsifying, so my conscience remained clear. A couple of times I managed to get the deficit down to single figures, but when I started to wake up the whole thing became a fallacy – hours, placements, studies, the lot. I spent many hours standing on doors knowing that no one was home, towards the end I didn’t even bother knocking on the door. My last year of service probably amounted to 120 hours, of which I reckon I spent less than 120 minutes actually talking to people. The weird thing is, even now after nearly 40 years, I still have the occasional dream about being on field service.

Did You Think Jehovah’s Witnesses Were Typically “Racists”?

I can honestly say (and it’s about the only thing I am grateful to JWs for) that becoming a JW completely cured me of racism. Before that I was a typical young white, London born, English Nationalist who hated all black people and wanted them all repatriated.
However, years later I did find it a bit odd that the black presiding overseer of a neighbouring congregation that was predominantly black, was reportedly having issues of racism from white servants in that congregation. I heard that from the presiding overseer of my congregation, and a few years after that, the black presiding overseer stepped down, declining to become an elder when that system was introduced in the early 70s.
I also found it odd when the engagement of a white brother to a black sister was announced, an older black sister commented that they shouldn’t be marrying each other because mixed marriages invite difficulties, and they were just bringing unnecessary troubles down on their own heads. I didn’t take that as racism, but I did think she should keep those sort of thoughts to herself.

Good memories of full-time service?
by fulano inperhaps not a topic for everybody... mine.. in both sp service in a foreign field in europe , the freedom and helping people to read and write in spanish .
doing a lot of work in the congregations.. in missionary-service.. helping congregations in a third-world country and see good results in family relations.
and the siestas from 13:00 to 15:00..... who has good memories of bethel?

Boys pre-teen sexuality / erections.? Why ? If only for procreation ?

he did a shithouse job in this regard.. i can`t speak for females this is entirely a male thing.
from my perspective.. male adolescents at a very ,very young age , babies , get erections periodically and it has nothing to do with sexual fantasies ,because they don`t even have an awareness of sex between a male and a female at this time.. and it is second inbuilt nature to masturbate to relieve, get rid of the erection .

I wouldn't say that God did a sloppy job with the design
It's not so much the design itself, but the timing of it, although I can think of plenty of other design flaws in the human condition. Yes, "orgasms for all" is brilliant - such a pity is has to be tied up with reproduction, then kids could enjoy it to their hearts delight without any unwanted pregnancies.

Yes indeed, god did a very poor job in the design of the human race. Either that, or he's a very perverse individual. As you say, what’s the point of baby boys getting erections, and I might add, what’s the point of twelve year old girls menstruating? Why design boys and girls to become sexually mature over a decade before they are emotionally mature? And as if that’s not bad enough, he then makes it a sin for them to relieve the powerful urges involved.

the made a separate box in the article to highlight the math behind jubilees, and i'm wondering if they're trying to get people thinking and stir up the pot without actually making a false prophecy.
for instance: jubilees happened every 7 times 7 years.

I take your point waton, but if DS's reasoning had applied to the actual 1914 generation it would have taken them until about now to ditch the literal interpretation of generation, but they they ditched it almost 25 years ago. So I would expect them to ditch the "one generation with overlapping groups" comfortably before the passage of time proves it wrong. In any event, I will be long gone by then so I'll never know.

Spot on!
The WT does not teach "overlapping generations", it teaches "one" generation. One generation that includes people born in the 1890s with some born in the 1960s, so long as those people are of the anointed and their lives overlap while they were anointed. Those of the latter group could live into the 2050s, so they have about thirty years to come up with something else. I doubt I will live long enough to see that, but it will no doubt be something even more absurd, if that is even possible.
